How it works
You can now invite a friend to join your booking conversation! When you invite someone, they'll be able to view your booking details and chat with you and your provider — perfect for coordinating group bookings or keeping a partner in the loop.
Here's the quick version:
- You generate a unique invite link from your booking chat
- Share the link with your friend via text, email, WhatsApp, or any messaging app
- Your friend opens the link, logs in (or creates a free Blys account), and taps Accept Invitation
- They're added to your booking and can join the conversation
How to invite a friend
Step 1: Open your confirmed booking and go to the Chat screen.
Step 2: Tap the Invite to Chat button. Your phone's share sheet will open with a unique invitation link.
Step 3: Share the link with your friend using any method — Messages, WhatsApp, email, AirDrop, Slack, or just copy the link.
That's it! Your friend will receive the link and can accept the invitation.
Accepting an invitation
When your friend receives the invite link:
- They tap the link, which opens the Blys app (or prompts them to download it)
- If they don't have a Blys account yet, they'll be asked to create one for free
- They tap Accept Invitation to join your booking
- A system message appears in the chat: "[Name] joined this conversation. Invited by [You]."
Your friend can now see the booking in their Upcoming Bookings list, with a note showing they were invited by you.
What can invited friends see and do?
Invited friends can:
- ✅ View booking details (date, time, service, location)
- ✅ Participate in the booking chat with you and the provider
- ✅ See the booking in their Upcoming and Past Bookings
Invited friends cannot:
- ❌ Modify the booking (change time, service, or cancel)
- ❌ Make payments — only the original booker is charged
Think of it as view-only access with chat. Only you (the booker) can make changes to the booking.
Inviting multiple friends
Want to invite more than one person? No problem!
- Each invitation link is single-use — it works for one person only
- After someone accepts your first invite, you can tap Invite to Chat again to generate a new link for the next friend
- There's no limit to how many friends you can invite
Removing a friend from your booking
Changed your mind? You can remove an invited friend at any time:
- Open the booking chat
- Tap on the friend's name or go to Details
- Select Remove to remove them from the booking
Once removed, they'll no longer see the booking or be able to chat. A system message will confirm the removal in the chat.
Sharing contact details? Use Invite to Chat
For your safety and privacy, sharing personal contact details (such as phone numbers or email addresses) is not permitted in booking chats.
If you try to share personal information in a chat, you'll see a helpful message suggesting you use Invite to Chat instead. This lets your friend join the conversation directly in the app — no need to share any contact details.
Simply tap the Invite to Chat button from the prompt (or follow the steps above) to invite them safely.
FAQs
Does my friend need the Blys app?
Yes. When they tap the invite link, they'll be directed to the app. If they don't have it installed, they'll be prompted to download it for free.
Does my friend need a Blys account?
Yes, but it's free and takes less than a minute to sign up. They can create an account when they open the invite link.
Will my friend be charged?
No. Only the original booker is charged for the service. Invited friends have no payment obligations.
Can my friend cancel or change my booking?
No. Only you (the booker) can modify or cancel the booking. Friends have view-only access plus chat.
Can I send the same invite link to multiple people?
No — each link is single-use. Once one person accepts it, you'll need to generate a new link for the next person by tapping Invite to Chat again.
What happens if my friend doesn't accept the invitation?
Nothing changes. The link stays active until someone uses it, and your booking continues as normal.
Why am I seeing a message about inviting friends when I try to share my details?
Blys keeps your personal information private by preventing contact details from being shared in chats. Instead, you can use Invite to Chat to add someone directly to the booking conversation — it's faster, safer, and keeps everyone in the loop without exchanging personal details.
Can the provider see that I've invited someone?
Yes. The provider can see all participants in the chat and will see system messages when someone joins or is removed.
