How does Blys rank and match providers?

Blys uses a combination of performance and location factors to help match clients with providers.

There are two ways clients can find you on Blys:

  • Booking requests: When a client places a booking, eligible providers are notified in priority order.

  • Top Providers: Clients can browse providers through the Top Providers section and book directly.

This list is designed to highlight providers who consistently deliver exceptional service and a reliable client experience.Your ranking on this page is determined by a handful of performance-based criteria, very similar to the tier system you’re already familiar with.

How Blys matches providers to booking requests

When a client places a booking, Blys identifies providers who are eligible for that booking and sends notifications in priority order.

To be eligible for a booking request, factors such as the following need to match the booking:

  • Your service area covers the booking location.
  • You offer the service the client has requested.
  • Your availability settings allow you to receive the booking notification.
  • The client has not blocked you.

Your service area and availability settings are important because they determine which bookings you can be notified about. You can manage your availability from your Blys Pro account and set the days and times when you want to receive job notifications.

You can also choose between real-time and fixed service areas, including multiple fixed areas or custom areas, depending on where you work.

How the Top Providers ranking works

The Top Providers section helps clients discover providers they can book directly.

Your position is influenced by five performance factors:

  1. Customer rating - Your customer rating is based on your average star rating from your last 50 reviews. Consistently providing a great client experience can help you maintain a strong rating.
  2. Recency - Recency refers to how recently you’ve completed bookings on Blys. Staying active and completing bookings regularly helps keep your profile current.
  3. Rebooking rate - Your rebooking rate reflects how often clients choose to book you again. Building a positive relationship with your clients and delivering a great experience can encourage them to rebook with you.
  4. Completion rate - Your completion rate is the percentage of bookings you’ve accepted that you successfully complete. Only accept bookings you can confidently fulfil. If something goes wrong after accepting a booking, it can affect your completion rate. A booking you cannot complete is better declined than accepted and later abandoned.
  5. Proximity - Proximity refers to how close you are to the client’s booking location. Keeping your service areas accurate and covering locations you’re realistically able to travel to can help you receive relevant booking opportunities.

How can a provider improve their ranking?

The best way to improve your visibility on Blys is to focus on the things you can control.

  1. Deliver a 5-star experience - Be punctual, professional and client-focused. Complete the full treatment duration and make sure the client has a positive experience. Strong client experiences can lead to better ratings and rebookings.
  2. Stay active - Regularly completing bookings keeps your profile active and helps maintain your recency. You don’t need to accept every booking. Focus on accepting bookings you can reliably complete.
  3. Encourage rebooking - If a client enjoys their treatment, let them know they can book with you again through Blys. Building a good client relationship can increase your chances of being rebooked.
  4. Protect your completion rate - Only accept bookings that you can realistically complete. If you’re unavailable or unable to travel to a booking, it’s better to decline it than accept it and later cancel or abandon the booking.
  5. Keep your service area accurate - Your service area helps determine where you can receive booking notifications. You can use a real-time service area, fixed service areas or custom areas. If your working locations change, update your service area so you’re receiving relevant booking requests.

What else can affect your ability to get bookings?

Ranking isn’t the only factor that determines whether clients can find or book you.

Your profile should also be kept complete and up to date. This includes:

  • A clear, professional profile photo
  • A useful provider bio
  • All services you’re qualified to offer
  • Current qualifications and required documents
  • An accurate service area
  • Up-to-date availability

Clients filter and browse providers based on their needs, so keeping your profile complete makes it easier for the right clients to find you.

The most important thing to remember

You don’t need to chase the ranking itself.

Focus on delivering great experiences, completing the bookings you accept, staying active, keeping your profile accurate and building relationships that encourage clients to come back.

These behaviours all contribute to the performance factors Blys uses to determine provider visibility.

What factors influence your ranking?

Your placement is based on the following:

  • Customer rating – The average star rating you receive from clients.
  • Recency – How active you've been recently
  • Rebooking rate – How often clients book you again.
  • Completion rate – The percentage of accepted bookings you successfully complete.
  • Proximity to booking address – How close you are to the client’s location.

Why these criteria matter

Each of these factors reflects the quality, consistency, and reliability that clients look for when choosing their provider. High performance across these areas increases your visibility to clients and boosts your chances of being booked again.

How to improve your ranking

  • Deliver 5-star experiences: Be punctual, professional, and client-focused to maintain strong ratings.
  • Stay active: The more recent your completed bookings, the better.
  • Encourage rebooking: Build relationships so clients choose you again.
  • Commit to what you accept: Only accept bookings you can complete reliably.
  • Keep your radius flexible: Staying close to booking locations can increase your chances of ranking higher.
