Blys processes payments through Stripe. With Stripe, your card is not charged or held when you make a booking - you're only charged once a provider accepts your booking. If your booking is not accepted (for example, no provider is available), you won't see any charge at all.
If you see a charge on your statement that doesn't match this - for example, an amount that doesn't correspond to an accepted booking, or a charge appearing before your booking was confirmed - please contact us at hello@getblys.com with your booking reference so we can look into it.
Note: this article previously described a $1 card verification charge used by Braintree, a payment processor Blys no longer uses for the vast majority of bookings. If you have an older account still linked to that legacy flow and see a temporary $1 charge, it was a standard card verification authorisation that is automatically voided by the bank and never completed as a real charge.
