Claiming Therapy from Core

From July 2025, participants can no longer use their Core funding flexibly to claim therapy supports. These supports must now be claimed through Capacity-Building Improved Daily Living.

Although the line items still appear under Core in the price guide on PRODA, we require written NDIA approval or a change of situation with extra funding added to the Improved Daily Living category to proceed.

With this in mind, any line items starting with 01_XXX can no longer be used for billing without express permission from the NDIA.

Allowing therapy supports to be claimed from Core was a temporary measure the NDIS introduced during Covid to allow more flexibility. This was always meant to be temporary, and things are now returning to the original setup.

Impacted supports include:

  1. Dietetics
  2. Occupational Therapy
  3. Physiotherapy
  4. Podiatry
  5. Psychology
