What if the client wants to extend the session?

Modified on Mon, 2 Mar at 1:25 AM

It’s common for clients to ask practitioners to add extra time or services to their appointment. (And honestly, who can blame them; they’re getting an amazing treatment!) Examples include:

1. Adding 30 extra minutes to a massage.

2. Requesting false lashes or threading while receiving a makeup service.

3. Adding hot stone therapy for an extra 15 minutes to a massage initially booked.

If a client makes one of these requests, here’s how to handle it professionally:

  • Check Your Availability: Make sure the extra time or service won’t affect your next appointment. Only agree if your schedule allows it.
  • Inform the Client About Additional Charges: Let the client know that adding extra time or services will incur an additional cost. Be clear and professional when communicating this.
  • Send an Update Request: Use the platform to send an updated booking request to the client. This ensures the new services and charges are properly recorded. And you need to inform the client to accept an update sent so that your payout can be adjusted once they accept.
