As part of verifying your provider profile, Blys may ask you for a police check. How you get one depends on the country you work in. Choose your country below.
How recent does it need to be? In Australia and the United Kingdom, your police check should be no older than 3 years. In Germany, France and the United States, it should be no older than 1 year.
Once you have it, upload it to your Blys profile or reply to our email with the PDF or a clear photo.
Australia: National Police Check
You can get your National Police Checks (new or renewals) at a discounted rate of $49.50 (as opposed to $64.00) - thanks to an exclusive partnership between Blys & Checked!

United Kingdom: Basic DBS check
You can request your Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate online through the official government website: https://www.gov.uk/request-copy-criminal-record. For costs, what you need and processing times, see How can I apply for a DBS check.
Germany: Führungszeugnis
Apply online: https://www.fuehrungszeugnis.bund.de (Federal Office of Justice / Bundesamt für Justiz)
✅ Cost: €13, paid online by card
🪪 What you need: your ID card (Personalausweis) or electronic residence permit with the online ID function (eID) switched on, plus the AusweisApp on your phone or computer
📄 Which type: choose the Führungszeugnis for private purposes (Privatführungszeugnis)
⚡ Fastest delivery: select the digital Führungszeugnis. It arrives as a PDF in your BundID inbox (https://id.bund.de), which you can download and send to us
📬 By post: if you choose paper delivery, or apply in person at your local Bürgeramt, it usually arrives within 1 to 2 weeks
France: extrait de casier judiciaire (bulletin n°3)
Apply online: https://casier-judiciaire.justice.gouv.fr (Ministère de la Justice). More information: service-public.gouv.fr
✅ Cost: free
🪪 What you need: an email address and your civil status details. Logging in with FranceConnect is the quickest option
⚡ Delivery: usually within 1 to 24 hours by email or via FranceConnect. If you were born outside France and don't use FranceConnect, you'll need to attach a copy of your ID and it can take a little longer
📬 By post: around 2 weeks
United States: background check
✅ If your state licence included a background check: you don't need to send us a separate one. This is the case for massage licences in most states and many healthcare licences, such as chiropractic. We'll verify your licence with your state board.
📄 Everyone else: if your licence didn't include a background check, your state doesn't license your service, or you offer a service that doesn't require a licence, you'll need to get your own background check and upload it to your Blys profile. It must be no older than 1 year.
⚡ Where to get one: request an FBI Identity History Summary Check online at https://www.edo.cjis.gov. It's usually the fastest option.

🏠 State check: if you've lived in only one state for the past 3 years, we'll also accept a criminal history check from that state.
🪪 Identity and safety: as part of verification, Blys may ask you to confirm your identity with a government photo ID and a selfie, and Blys may also run a public safety check, such as the National Sex Offender Public Website.
